April # 2 Water Search
The white gold men's ring was lost in waist deep water. The husband has ordered
a metal detector to try himself...
Thanks, Scott

The owner will have his detector and is going to try tomorrow morning. I do not
have a time yet.

I met the owner this morning. He lost the ring on the other side of the lake from
the beach area. He was getting out of a boat when it tipped over dumping all of
his belongings into the lake. When he got out of the water his wedding ring was
gone, but he was able to save the fish he had caught.
[Scott found about 40 targets, but not the ring.]
The area is fairly small, some vegetation, no visibility and very muddy. I am
going back Sunday morning with a rake to clear the debris and a mask to avoid
pushing the ring deeper. Anyone interested in helping, let me know.

Scott and Andrew went back to the Lake and searched again. They found many more
things including several cell phones, but again no ring.

Dropped pin
This is the pin dropped where the guy lost his ring at Pflugerville Lake for
those asking about it. The lake is higher now than it is in the aerial. The spot
is in between 2 trees in a little cove with some tall reeds in the water nearby.
It’s a place where people often fish and put kayaks in.

Scott and Fred tried again, and again found many targets, but no ring.
In early March 2026, Lake Pflugerville was lowered about 10 feet to
allow repair of a broken pipe.

Scott and Andrew went back to the lake to search yet again and were able to
detect on somewhat dry ground. Andrew searched areas that had not been searched
before and Scott worked his way along the shoreline, both finding many targets.
Scott received a good signal under a large rock about 5' from the shoreline,
moved the rock and about 6 inches down in the mud found a shiny wedding ring.
They continued hunting in case they had not found the long-lost ring.
Later that day at home a search of Scott's files confirmed that they had found
the missing ring.
[This is another example of Scott's never-give-up attitude.]
